MARIA and FERNANDO are brother and sister, and arrived at the orphanage on May 30th, 2008 through DIF (Social Services). Maria is 10, and Fernando is 7. They come from a sad home situation.

DOMINGO and LEOBARDO are 2 brothers from the neighboring state of Chihuahua. They said that neither their mom nor their mom's boyfriend wanted them, so they decided to come to Choix. A lady found them in the streets and took them to DIF (Social Services), who then brought them out to us. DIF from Chihuahua plans on coming for them soon to see if any of their relatives wants them. If no one wants them, then maybe we will get to keep them. Domingo is 10 years old, and Leobardo is 8.

MIGUEL, a very active 11 year old boy, used to run around Choix with Diego, Alain, and a few other boys. He was living with his grandma before he came to the orphanage. Since he would stay out so late at night, his grandma finally got desperate. She sent him to the orphanage at the beginning of October, 2007. Miguel may be here for an indefinate amount of time.

DIEGO is a 12 year old boy. He is from the same neighborhood in Choix that Alain is from and they would hang out a lot. His mom had been wanting to send him to Casa Hogar Luz de Esperanza because he would wander the streets until late at night. Due to various problems he was having while living at his house, his mom signed him over to us for an indefinate amount of time. In March of 2008, he made a decision to follow Christ, and was baptized with Jesse, Lenn's son, who also made the decision the day after Diego. Diego's birthday is November 14th.

MARIA (Mary or Maria in English) is an 12 year old girl. She is from Aguajito which is a 20 minute drive from the orphanage. DIF (Social Services) brought her to us. Due to problems in her home, she was apparently living in the streets and at times at her friends’ homes. Her mother comes often to visit her. She loves to read and is going to the Public School where Alain and Diego are also attending which is a 5 minute walk away from the orphanage. On October 8th of 2007, she received the Lord into her heart with the help of Rebecca and Jessica. Her birthday is September 4^th.

TEODORO (Theodore in English) is a 15-year-old boy. He is from Sinaloa de Leyva which is approx. a 3 hour drive from the orphanage. We believe that Teodoro was born with Cerebral Palsy which means he can’t control his arms or legs very well due to brain damage at birth, so he’s in a wheelchair. He is intelligent though, and smiles easily.  Teo (That’s what we call him) is learning to read and do basic math, because he never had gone to school before coming here. He often watches the others playing or plays with hot wheel cars and is usually thankful for the things we do for him. In the July of 2007, Teo made a decision to follow Christ with the help of one of the youth from a visiting youth group. His birthday is April 12.
