Scott Gehman is from Nickel Mines Mennonite Church in PA. and arrived in Mexico September 27th of 2008. Presently he is in Ahome, a village about 3 hours SW of Choix. He is living with a Christian Mexican family in order to give him a boost on the language. Scott plans on living there until the end of January, 2009. Tricia Kennell is 21 years old and came to Mexico to help with the Choix church plant that Loren and Donna Yoder and Rod and Christa Schwartz are working with. Stacey Nolt arrived here in Choix, Mexico, on June 26, 2008. She is from Calvary Mennonite Fellowship in Virginia and is 20 years old. She plans to be here 6-8 months and she spends her day helping with cooking, laundry, and the children. ( in addition to studying Spanish) Her xanga site is: stacey87

 
 

 

 

Rachael Wengerd is 25 years old and arrived at the orphanage on May 15th, 2008. Presently, her duties consist of cooking, doing laundry, taking care of  children, etc. She is from Door of Hope Mennonite Church in Ohio, and is on a 1 year term. Johan Horst is from New Hope Mennonite Church in PA, and arrived at Choix on May 15th, 2008. He is presently working with the boys in the boys' dorm room which means keeping an eye on the boys, stopping arguements, and many other things that consist with working with boys. :-) He is 23 years old and is on a 2 year term. Samuel Raber is 25 years old and joined the Choix team on May 15th, 2008. He works in the boys' dorm room and his duties are keeping an eye on the boys, stopping arguements, etc. He is from Woodlawn A.M. Church and is on a 1 ½ year term.

 

 

Rodney and Christa Schwartz used to attend Crossroads Mission Church while living in Bloomfield, Ohio. After selling their house, they moved to Choix and joined the Mexico team in October, 2007. October of this year, they started 2 childrens' Bible classes, one on their front porch, the other in San Pedro, a village about 20 minutes away. They also help out at times with the orphanage as well as with church activities. Their children's names and ages are: Kyle-8, Kassondra-7, Alyssa-4, and Dylan-3. Their blog is: rodnchrista

 
 Loren and Donna and their 4 children moved to Mexico at the beginning of 2005, going through language study for the required year. Then, at the beginning of 2006, they moved to Choix. They help out at the orphanage at times although Loren is mainly over the church and evangelizing part of the ministry. Loren and Donna have four children. Starting with the oldest, here are their names and ages: Janessa-14, Caleb-12, Kedric-8, Kyle-5.
 
 
Lenn and Debbie Miller and family are from Plain City, OH, and before moving to Mexico, went to United Bethel Mennonite Church. They moved down to Mexico in 2003, and after studying Spanish for a year, moved to Choix. By first finding property on which to build the orphanage, and then going through a couple of building projects, they were able to move into the orphanage. After waiting a while, the first child came in, and now there are quite a few more than that. They also help out with church activities. Lenn and Debbie have 10 children of their own. Starting with the oldest, here are the names and ages: Ian-16, Suzanne-14, Jesse-13, Regina-11, Dietrich-10, Garrison-8, Faith-7, Deanna-5, Carol-3, Jeffrey- 1.
